The WORD today reminds me that I should wait for the fulfilment of God’s plans in
his perfect time
Not
a lot of people want to wait, that’s why we have a lot of 'instant' things.
Noodles, coffee, spaghetti and even champorado. We want to have quick results.
We want things fast. We do not want to wait. That's why a lot of us get
impatient waiting for God's plan to happen in our lives
In
the first reading, we see a passage from Isaiah, and in the gospel, we see
Jesus reading that exact passage and telling the people that that day, it has
been fulfilled. How great that must have been.
Masterpieces take time to complete.
It
takes time. No great thing happens overnight. Nothing great happens instantly.
It took time for the passage of Isaiah to be fulfilled in Jesus time. It can
take time, but God's promises will always come true. In our lives, we may also
feel the same way - that things take time, that we have been waiting for so
long, that it seems that nothing good will happen. We should remember than
until a masterpiece is finished, it does not look good at all. But when it is
finished, when everything comes to place, we will see the beauty of the
finished masterpiece.
Today
we are also reminded that God does not forget, and his promises will come true
in his perfect time, not ours. We are his masterpieces, and it might take time
before his great and perfect plan comes into reality. However, we should hold
on to the promise, that when everything comes to place, we will see the beauty,
the masterpiece that God intended for us.
We have been affected by covid for quite a while now. Some may be agitated. Some may be worried. Some may feel helpless. However, we are reminded to trust in God. We need to trust in him. In his plans. In his timing. He knows what will happen. He has great plans. We just need to be patient, and to continue to live right as we wait.

What
are the things I am waiting for? How do I feel, especially when things look
bleak and make no sense? Do I continue to trust in God?
As
we enter into the final days of the Holy Week, may we take time to pause and
reflect. May we continue to have faith in God while waiting for his perfect
time.
Father God,
Thank you for today. Thank you for another day to live.
Thank you for the timely reminder. Thank you for this opportunity to pause,
pray and reflect. Lord, I am sorry for being impatient with your plans for me.
I am sorry for wanting things to happen my way, my time. Sorry for losing faith
and hope. Sorry for focusing too much on myself and what I want. Help me
be more patient as I wait in faith, Lord. I will continue to love, serve and
have faith in you while I wait. I know you have great plans. I know you have perfect timing. I trust in you and I believe you will get us through this. Amen.

The
spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; he has
sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly, to heal the brokenhearted, to
proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the prisoners, to announce a
year of favor from the LORD and a day of vindication by our God, to comfort all
who mourn; to place on those who mourn in Zion a diadem instead of ashes, to
give them oil of gladness in place of mourning, a glorious mantle instead of a
listless spirit.
You yourselves shall be named priests of the LORD, ministers of our God you shall be called.
I will give them their recompense faithfully, a lasting covenant I will make with them. Their descendants shall be renowned among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all who see them shall acknowledge them as a race the LORD has blessed.

RESPONSORIAL
PSALM
R.
For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
“I have found David, my servant; with my holy oil I have anointed him. That my hand may always be with him; and that my arm may make him strong.”
R. For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
“My faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him; and through my name shall his horn be exalted. He shall say of me, ‘You are my father, my God, the Rock, my savior!’”
R. For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

[Grace
to you and peace] from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness, the firstborn
of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has
freed us from our sins by his Blood, who has made us into a Kingdom, priests
for his God and Father, to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.
Behold, he is coming amid the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him. All the peoples of the earth will lament him. Yes. Amen.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

VERSE
BEFORE THE GOSPEL
The
Spirit of the Lord is upon me for he sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor.
GOSPEL
Jesus
came to Nazareth, where he had grown up, and went according to his custom into
the synagogue on the sabbath day. He stood up to read and was handed a scroll
of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it
was written:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.
Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him. He said to them, “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.”
