The WORD today (See http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/041714-chrism-mass.cfm) reminds me that God's promises will be fulfilled in the perfect time.
Not a lot of people want to wait, that’s why we have a lot of 'instant' things nowadays. We want to have quick results. We want things fast. That's why a lot of us get impatient waiting for God's plan to happen in our lives.
In the first reading, we see a passage from Isaiah, and in the gospel, we see Jesus reading that exact passage and telling the people that that day, it has been fulfilled.
It took time for the passage to be fulfilled. But God's promises will always come true. In our lives, we may also feel the same way - that things take time, that we have been waiting for so long. Today we are reminded that God does not forget, and his promises will come true in his perfect time, not ours.
Father God,
Thank you for today. Thank you for another day to live. Thank you for this opportunity to pause, pray and reflect. Lord, I am sorry for being impatient with your plans for me. Help me be more patient as I wait in faith, Lord. Amen.
Blessed day!
In Christ,
-g-
