The WORD today (see http://usccb.org/bible/readings/031416.cfm) reminds me that God hears our cry.
A
lot of us pray to God for help. A lot of us come to him with our intentions. In
fact, when we pray, most of the time we ask for things. May be not always for
ourselves, but we ask for his blessing and guidance. However, not all of us
feel his answer. Not all of us realize that he answers us.
God hears those
who faithfully cry to him for help. He is quick to protect those who
wholeheartedly trust him.
In
the first reading we saw Susanna who did not give into the evil desires of
powerful men. She would rather die pure and faithful to God, than give in to
worldly powerful men and live. She chose God. And as she continued to be
faithful, in her last moments, she cried to God for help. And God used Daniel
to save her and bring justice.
No situation is
more powerful than God.
No
matter what situation we are in, no matter how powerful people seem to have an
advantage over us or have control of the situation, God can still turn things
around. He can do anything, and he will do anything to save us and bring glory
to his name.
We
may not feel God's power, protection and answer as obvious as Susanna, but God
is still working in our lives. In fact, probably the reason why we don't
realize these things in our lives is because he protects us from experiencing
even the slightest trace of it. And when faced with seemingly impossible
situations, we should not lose hope. Instead, we should be like Susanna who has
complete faith in God, who consistently chose God. And God will continue to
surprise us.
May
we be one with Susanna and the psalmist in saying that even if we walk in the
valley of darkness, we fear no evil. For God is by our side.
Father God,
Thank you for
today. Thank you for another day to live. Thank you for another chance to love
and serve you. Thank you for another week. Lord, thank you for always guiding
and protecting me. Thank you for your love and protection. Thank you for
hearing my cries for help. Lord, help me have complete faith in you no matter
what the situation may be. I know nothing is impossible for you. Help me choose
you always. Amen.
Blessed
week!
In
Christ,
-g-
