The WORD today (See http://usccb.org/bible/readings/010314.cfm) reminds me that God has great plans in store for us.
As we welcome the new year 2014, we have different emotions. Some are excited to see what the new year brings. Some are hopeful, optimistic that better things are coming, especially after the recent calamities. Some are scared, not knowing what will happen. However, we are given assurance by God that even if we do not know what will happen, He has great things in store for us. The first reading tells us:
what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is
We may not know what 2014 will bring, but let us have faith that God has great things in store for us. Let us have faith in his love and goodness.
Father God,
Thank you for today. Thank you for another day to live. Thank you for the blessings you have consistently been giving me. Lord, I thank you for the assurance that you have great things in store for me. May i always have faith in you. Amen.
