Little

The WORD today (see http://usccb.org/bible/readings/010214.cfm) reminds me how little I am in comparison to Jesus.

In the gospel, when the people asked John who he was, he told them he is not Christ or Elijah. He was just someone preparing the way for Jesus, whose sandals he is unworthy to untie. He knew how little he was in comparison to Jesus.

This fact should not make us feel insignificant, rather, it should make us feel grateful - that even if we are little, God sees us worthy of Christ and his saving and redeeming love. This should bring us to loving Him more.

As we start another year, may we always feel God's love for us, and may we always humble ourselves and submit to God's perfect plan for us.

Father God,
Thank you for today. Thank you for another year. As we start to work this year, may we always be grateful for the gift of work. May we always give our best and glorify you with our work. Lord, may we also always submit to you, knowing how perfect your plan for us is. Amen.

Blessed day!

In Christ,
-g-
