What Are You Looking For?

The WORD today (see http://usccb.org/bible/readings/010414.cfm) asks us what we are looking for.

In the gospel, Jesus asked the men what they were looking for. I believe that as we start a new year, Jesus is asking us as well what we are looking for. It may be a career promotion, salary increase, forgiveness from someone, wholeness of family, freedom from a vice or bad relationship, physical fitness or a happy outlook in life. We may be looking for a lot of things, but may we never forget to also look for God - in the simplest of things, in the people we encounter, and in the busyness of our lives.

Father God,
Thank you for today. Thank you that it is not hard to look for you. Lord, I pray that I may never forget to look for you, to know you more, and to get closer to you. Amen.

Blessed day!

In Christ,
-g-
