Faithful David

The WORD today (See http://usccb.org/bible/readings/020714.cfm) reminds me how God wants us to be faithful.

In the first reading we see a summary of David's life. His was not perfect, but he tried to be faithful. In the times he broke God's heart by sinning, he genuinely repented. In the times he had victories, he never forgot to thank God for his help. When in fear, he goes to God for help. In everything, he tried to be faithful to God.

David should inspire us. We may not be kings, or not kill a giant to save our country, but we can relate to him. There are times he was uncertain, afraid, repentant, and joyful. In all these times, he never forgot God. So should we as we go through life.

Father God,
Thank you for today. Thank you for another day to live. Thank you for your unending love. Lord, I pray that I be like David, faithful to you in all circumstances. Amen.

Blessed day!

In Christ,
-g-
