Faith in the WORD

The WORD today (see http://usccb.org/bible/readings/120312.cfm) reminds me to have faith in the WORD.
Nowadays, there are a lot of people and circumstances that affects our perspective on what other people say. There are politicians and media personalities who tell lies in public, and act as if nothing is wrong with lying. Such things make us doubt the words coming out of people around us.
However, in today’s gospel, we are reminded that there is one word we should never doubt - God’s. Amidst all the lies and distractions in the world, one Word is constant. God’s promises, power and love for us are unchanging, no matter what other people say or do.
The centurion knows the power of the word. We may not have that experience of having a powerful word that people obey, but we know that we have a powerful God with a powerful word. Let us focus on His word as we live our lives on earth.

Father God,
Thank you for today. Thank you for the long weekend. As we start another week, I ask that you give us the energy and the focus to do our work, to give our best in everything, for all our actions can be a prayer, a sign of our offering, of our love for you. And you deserve the best from me, Lord. Help me also to have faith in your Word as I live my life for you. Amen.

Blessed day!

In Christ,
-g-
